Lemony Snicket photos

Within the play me and my group have accomplished, we have made a series of lines in which we would say during the play. As well as you can see used facial expression to describe the scenario even further. I have made a picture of this above which will help you understand what I have done during lemony snicket. When I performed I was able to change my body language manipulating it to seem as if I were Violet because I looked around as if I were curious about something I felt materials around the house, however, pretended they were no use, and then changed my expression from discussed to scared as Count Olaf argued with Klaus. I usually though held sunny pretending an infant was inside the small sort of basket. However, the base of that my hand expressions became unuseful, however, when Olaf took sunny up her arms and held her I gasped putting my hands to my mouth and then reached hoping somehow I could catch the infant. In order to make a good expression I used an English accent, a medium sort of tone a soft volume. For example when I said, "You Monster" obviously I didn't shout it, I used an English accent and softened the way I said it and pronounced the "M" in a longer syllable.

Greek theater reflection

I believe that the skills I have developed have changed a lot as I have manipulated a variety of all these different skills to make a well-organized performance, I personally have grown a deep understanding of chorus work through time and have begun to understand all of the histories.  The skills which have mostly improved for me is my vocal projection, I have grown louder and deeper into the voice sometimes I also tend to exaggerate my vocabulary to create an even deeper understanding of the character. Personally, I tend to firstly understand the character and then slowly but surely find the characteristics I look for. I have also improved my confidence since sometimes I become shy but when I go on stage now I feel all the pressure lead away.

My favorite scene from my three scenes was the first scene which was when the shepherd gave the baby to the king and queen, within the scene we showed we were nervous and frightened when we said continuously "It's a shepherd".  I also liked the particular part in the oracle scene where we made tension by creating more and more frightening gestures and there in specific was where I think I changed my voice the most and I am proud of what I have accomplished. When I performed the character I used my voice and blocked my throat  and pushed air to pass it and somehow made a creaky and scary noise which I used as my voice. I changed the pitch and motion of my voice all the time to create stronger emotional responses. On the final scene, I believe that it was also effective because we made all sorts of motion using body gestures showing wind and rain, we also showed the clothes in which we held and used them as motion signals of darkness, once we covered ourselves with the cloth at the end, Maia was then brought out of sight and you could hear tears in the background.

We as a group should have improved on facing our backs to the audience because our backs were facing them a lot for example when Maia was sitting down in the Oral scene her back was facing the audience the whole time which worried me a lot. During the performance, it is considered an error if ones back face the audience because then they can't see what is going on in the play and suddenly lose track on the story. Greek theater was a most interesting unit which really improved all the class together, it was fun and enthusiastic for everyone to experience a brand new style of theater.

Oedipus and the sphinx final performance video

Reflection:
I personally believe that my performance in volume pitch and tone was splendid, I also performed an amazing method of creating my characters feelings around the second scene I also think that my whole group showed an amazing vocabulary however some of the boys began to laugh. The chorus of the first scene was my personal favourite and I love how we continued to show how we felt and began to say "IT'S A BABY", right after we said "it's a shepherd" continuously.  The third scene needed much more practice however when we performed it went much more fluidly than the actual practice time. I also think that our group needed a lot of practice which was exactly what we did. We took three our lunch breaks in a row to finally end up with the scenes we created. I think ,however, the most challenging part of the act was responding to each other when someone messed up ,fortunately, everyone seemed to be well organized with their lines. In all, compared to all the other acts I think all of the students in drama class did especially well.

greek theatre research task

In the past, Greek theater was much different than the theaters in our present. They didn't have half the things we have. For one the greek theater's had no microphones. So in order to project the voice of an actor they usually used chorus work. There are however a few keywords that you should note about ancient greek theater.

• The first one here is "Acropolis" this is a city which tends to lie around a hill. Usually, an acropolis had only two theaters in disposal and one of the common theaters was a bit smaller than the other. This was a theater of Dionysos.

• The seats of honor were reserved for the high priest of Dionysos. These were usually placed at the very front seats, which were around 50 to 67 sets of seats in that row. These seats were usually called the seats of honor.

• A "scenery" is a place where actors usually changed costumes and masks. It was shaped like a wooden box with only one entrance. The inventor of the scenery was a man named Sophocles. He  created the scenery mainly by painting the outside of a scene building.

• A "Mekhane" is a sort of crane that helps actors show a flying god/creatures into the play. It was used to lift off the actor above ground to make a special effect to the scene.

• An "Orchestra" was an area where the actors danced and sung. It also gave representation to the god of wine which had created greek theater in the first place.

• Now the only actors which performed on stage were men, who played parts of female and male. They showed the characters by wearing different costumes and masks.

• After every play, the judges gave prizes to the best writer of plays. It was indeed great honor and privilege to win a prize. Most of the famous scripts pass on to around two and a half thousand years so we can still read them today.

Greek theatre

During the previous two  lesson , we have been creating our own version of the tale Oedipus and the sphinx. This tale is a common greek tale whom the greeks have formed. In the last two lessons we had to act out our way to interpret the first two scenes which are:

1: this scene tells the moment when a fine shepherd finds a baby in his fields and decides to bring it to the king and queen who have never had a baby before.
2: this scene is technically based on the first one it's just showing the shepherd bringing the baby to the king and queen.

After creating the actual scene we had to take pictures of the interpretation and now I will discus with you how and why I choose to show my character this way. Here are the pictures we made of the two separate scenes:

Now  I was one of the sheep in this scene. you can see I tried to regulate my hands like a fist to create some sort of their hands. In the picture I also like normal sheep i was regulating my teeth by making them show, pretending I was eating which suits my name in the scene which was "Eater". Though mainly usually sheep like to eat up clothes which I was pretending to do. Since I wanted to show the baby was there. then you see I was like my companions bent down on my knees to show the size of a normal sheep.  then obviously at the scene I was making sheep movements of medium around speed. I was also making sheep sounds for example [ Bhheeeaaa], and I repeated this over and over to show me as a sheep.

This one I would call one of my favourite scenes since I preferably think I personally did much better acting this scene from the other one. The only down fall would of been that we needed unity. I think that we might of been able of letting a few joined lines in and then we would of made a change. however in this scene I am the queen. I show this since i am crossing my legs in a girl like way. And as you can see I have handed over my hand to the gentlemen by my side. In the actual   scene I use an english accent to show a queen and i curtsy to show my formal greeting as a queen. And as a women would do in presence of a baby would be amazed that it has been handed to her, and would do anything to deliver the charge and hand her her thank you. In this case I hand the shepherd an offering  of 500 dollars.
